CW take aim for Green Arrow pilot

New DC adaptation

 Following its 10 season success of Smallville CW is now delving into DC comics to on a pilot order for a new adaptation of the "Green Arrow" comic which will be from Greg Berlanti and Warner Bros. TV.

Berlanti will be co-writing the pilot with his frequent collaborator, Marc Guggenheim and also Andrew Kreisberg. This trio will exec produce.

The comic, which dates back to the 1940s revolves around a vilgilante superhero who similar to Batman, fights crime with martial arts and archery based weaponry funded by his fortune.
His day persona is Oliver Queen a liberal politician and billionaire.
He works with his Team Arrow a group of sidekicks and also has a place alongside Superman and Batman in the Justice League.

After season 10 of Smallville finished CW decided to try and mine DC for another series worthy material. Green Arrows character also stared as a regular for Smallville from 2006 to its end in 2011.
 
Berlanti and Geggenheim have also recently worked with Kreisberg on the ABC drama "Eli Stone" and recently Kreisberg has also been a writer-producer for Syfy drama "Warehouse 13" and Fox's "Fringe".
